Tournaments
There are generally two types of tournaments:
Selective lists of official and recreational tournaments are shown below.
Our players have a good track record in all types of tournaments, ranging from veterans' tournaments to the provincial championships. For a list of recent (and less recent) results and successes, please check our
If you would like to participate in any tournament (whether on this list or not) please contact the match
secretary, who will make a central registration for
all BIBC participants.
Please note that you must register before the indicated deadline.
Obviously, it is always nicer not to go to a tournament alone, so it is a good idea to convince other members that playing in tournaments is fun! However, if you really can't find a partner for a doubles, many tournaments also allow 'blank' doubles entries: you will be allocated a partner from another club upon arrival at the tournament...

This list is by no means exhaustive and only
shows some of the tournaments that might be most interesting
for BIBC members - for geographical or other reasons. Tournaments
clashing with more than one league match are not included. For a full list of all official
tournaments, please consult the VVBBC
or the VBL.
If you know of another tournament not listed
here, please do not hesitate to contact the match
secretary. Most tournaments across Belgium are open
to players from all over the country, so there is no need
to shy away from tournaments held outside Flemish Brabant.
Especially tournaments in the province of Antwerp may actually
be closer to us than some places in Brabant...
Some rules for the tournaments...:
- Always bring your own shuttles (check the list of approved shuttles - the one we use at club nights are generally fine)
- Always be there well in time - at least 30 minutes before your match is scheduled to start.
- Always inform the head referee before leaving the venue of the tournament. Otherwise you risk disqualification.
